First snoop feedback

So I got my first feedback session from the big man 'Howel'. Really great session and he was quite complimentary if a little taken back by my lack of experience doing this.

I have to be slicker when talking during song intros I avoid 'crashing' and try to put more of me into the personality. Also talked about at length with myself and my fellow BLD (Big Live Drive) presenter, Mike was to try only talking about one thing during a link. For example, rather than doing a link regarding a piece of news or the debates I always hold during a show and following with the time, day etc - is to seperate them with songs. Don't give the audience too much to think about.

Also not to over do the links.... This was described as earning the right to a link over time during a show like drive time. Good advice.

Looprevil fail

So last week, or shows on the student station were cancelled due to the installation of new equipment. As presenters, we are lucky to now be using a more professional desk and have the luxury of an nice, shiny, new and fast computer running a modern operating system.

We'll had to do training and the Station Manager Jamie Gibson kindly waited for me last Thursday evening to conduct training when I had finished at KCC live.

The new desk is rather swish and I was very much looking forward to using it this morning (Monday). Slight technical however…

I overslept!

I have never missed a show and feel really awful about it. I'm not in any trouble but it is an experience worth making a mental note of. Perhaps I should avoid morning shows! Its not like in retail where you can be covered. If you run a show on radio station that you self produce, self deliver and everything else, you are the one and only critical staff member. I have put out an apology on my Facebook and will do the same on the Monday morning hangover Twitter page as well momentarily.

I have officially experienced my first radio presenter fail.

Must now pick oneself up, and move the hell on!
